Your Role as the Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Memory Care

Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support residents in our Memory Care community. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring safe medication administration while providing hands-on support with daily living activities in a secure, home-like environment.

Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you’ll help promote comfort, dignity, and consistency of care for residents living with memory loss.

Summary

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for administering prescribed medications and supporting residents with activities of daily living in accordance with state regulations and Americare policies. This role partners closely with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure resident safety, routine, and person-centered care in a Memory Care setting.

This Role May Also Be Known As

Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Technician (CMT), Med Aide, Level One Medication Aide (L1MA), or Medication Assistant.

What You’ll Do
  • Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff
  • Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations
  • Monitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concerns
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility
  • Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as ordered
  • Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required
