Overview

Senior Education RN Specialist – Risk Management & Clinical Writing. Are you a registered nurse who loves to write, educate, and collaborate with clinical peers? Do you have a strong understanding of risk management, patient safety, or insurance/claims? This is a rare opportunity to leverage your clinical expertise while creating meaningful educational content, with potential for upward mobility into the executive suite.

We are looking for a master’s-prepared RN to lead the development of risk management education initiatives. This role combines clinical insight, writing, and collaboration with a diverse team of medical and nursing writers, risk management professionals, and client stakeholders. It’s a dream position for nurses who want to do what they love—write, educate, and improve patient safety—while advancing their career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Risk Management continuing education program, including authoring and editing medical and nursing risk management (RM) education.
  • Conduct thorough, complex literature searches across medical, nursing, and risk management sources to build a foundational understanding for CME/CNE programs and newsletter articles.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external writers to refine and edit content, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and professional standards.
  • Oversee accreditation activities (ACCME, ANCC), including NAB and MOC criteria, ensuring all educational materials meet rigorous professional standards.
  • Engage with the broader risk management client community to develop content that is practical, evidence-based, and impactful.
Qualifications
  • RN with a master’s degree (BSN required).
  • Experience in risk management, insurance, quality improvement, or legal nurse consulting.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills.
  • Public speaking experience and a willingness to engage with a clinical audience.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and research skills.
  • Preference for candidates based in Louisiana, though exceptional candidates elsewhere will be considered.
Why This Role Is Special
  • Unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with writing and education in a risk management environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow clinical writers and risk management professionals.
  • Upward mobility into executive-level leadership positions.
  • Flexibility, professional growth, and a culture that values work/life balance.
