Shift: Mid Shift (8 Hours) – Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (On-Call Required)
Pay Rate: $60/hr on W2 or $2,400/week
Job SummaryThe Ultrasound Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic sonography exams and assisting radiologists in guided procedures. This role ensures imaging quality, patient safety, and compliance with all healthcare regulations while delivering high-quality patient care.
Education- Required:
Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Required:
Minimum 2 years of sonographer experience
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Certification in Abdominal and OB-Gyn Ultrasound
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced certifications in specialty areas (as required by facility)
- Proficiency in computers, imaging systems, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of abdominal anatomy (liver, gallbladder, aorta, spleen, kidneys, bile ducts, pancreas) and related pathology
- Ability to work flexible schedules (24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call)
- Strong organizational and patient-care skills
Job Duties
- Verify physician orders and patient procedures for accuracy
- Use radiology information systems to support patient care
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure understanding
- Independently operate ultrasound equipment per protocol
- Assist radiologists during guided procedures
- Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission
- Complete quality control procedures and corrective actions as needed
- Support departmental operations (inventory, scheduling, equipment maintenance)
- Adapt patient interactions to diverse populations with professionalism and privacy
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
