Job Description
* ** Develop Treatment Plans:
** Create effective treatment plans and obtain approval from referring physicians.
* ** Patient Care:
** Treat patients according to the physician’s treatment plan.
* ** Training Support:
** Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
* ** Supervision:
** Oversee Occupational Therapy Assistants in direct patient care and related activities, ensuring compliance with state practice acts.
* ** Communication:
** Regularly update supervisors and healthcare team members on patient progress, challenges, and care plans.
* ** Team Participation:
** Engage in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review meetings, and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
* ** Documentation:
** Maintain evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation in accordance with Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
* ** Treatment Changes:
** Document treatment modifications as per facility policies and procedures.
* ** Family Instructing:
** Train patients’ families and nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
