Rehabilitation Therapist – STAR Acute Crisis Homes
California Department of Developmental Services is looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals to join the Stabilization Training Assistance Reintegration (STAR) Acute Crisis Homes team. The role focuses on supporting clients with developmental disabilities during acute crisis periods and promoting independence and safety in community‑based settings.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with activities of daily living and provide emotional support.
- Implement person‑centered care plans and promote client independence.
- Work in a four‑to‑five bed home in Vacaville, Springville, or Costa Mesa.
- Travel up to 300 miles per day and travel to locations throughout Northern and Southern California; overnight stays may be required.
- Document and report client progress using systematic data collection and clear, concise reports.
- Strong, agile, and able to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Capable of working with clients who have developmental disabilities and severe behavioral or psychiatric conditions.
- Must hold a valid California Driver’s License and be willing to drive extensively.
- Must obtain a drug screening, background investigation, medical clearance, and meet all California state employment requirements.
