ResponsibilitiesUnder the general direction of the Sr. Psychologist, the Clinical Counselor works in Mental Health Services. The Clinical Counselor applies counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within applicable law and licenses to improve the mental health of incarcerated individuals and to promote preventive wellness behaviors. The Clinical Counselor works preventatively with the incarcerated population, including those not in the mental health delivery system, to provide access, outreach, and prevention wellness strategies.
Minimum QualificationsThe position does not have a Classification Specification. Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s).
Desirable Qualifications- Willingness to create and promote an equitable and inclusive workplace.
- Possession of a valid Associate Clinical Counselor license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
