Position Summary:

This role requires a passionate, mission-driven professional who will support the Ability@Work Young Adults Program and lead the Wildflower Project, a creative social enterprise empowering young adults with developmental disabilities.

Role and Responsibilities

This person's job responsibility includes but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and grow a young adults program focused on independence, confidence, and life skills
  • Manage the Wildflower Project, guiding participants through creative work, teamwork, and community events
  • Support Family Nights, Parents’ Night Out, and Educational Evenings
  • Collaborate closely with leadership, families, volunteers, and community partners
  • Create a warm, structured, and empowering environment where individuals thrive
  • All other duties as requested by Supervisor

Physical requirements

Staff must be physically capable of driving an automobile in a safe manner. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, stand/walk up to 4 hours, and be capable of continuous activity with children; must be physically able to participate in and complete PCM Practitioner Level 2 certification (Professional Crisis Management).

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Passionate about inclusion and empowering individuals with disabilities
  • A natural leader who leads with heart, patience, and purpose
  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred)
  • Flexible working some evenings and occasional weekends
  • Looking to create life-changing impact on young adults and families every day
  • Completion of annual 40 hours of in‑service training
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • CPR, First Aid and Water Safety Certification
  • Ability to become PCM Certificated
