The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting Certified Nursing Assistants to assist licensed nursing staff in performing routine tasks in the care and treatment of patients in multiple units within the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, CA.

Certified Nursing Assistants assist patients with feeding, ambulating, grooming, dressing and other activities of daily living. Additional duties include transporting patients to appointments; taking and recording vital signs; obtaining stool and urine specimens; and other required patient care activities.

What you will typically be responsible for:

  • Perform physical tasks using appropriate body mechanics and a reasonable degree of physical exertion
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living
  • Assists in maintaining a clean safe environment for the patient
  • Monitors and assists in providing dietary requirements of patients
  • Providing close observation of patients and the documentation of these observations
  • Reports observations to the RN or team Leader or Charge Nurse
  • Transportation of patients both within the hospital and to appointments outside the hospital

Certificates:
Possession of a valid certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State of California and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.
