Crisis Intervention Trainer

The Crisis Intervention Trainer/Presenter facilitates established, in-person community trainings focused on mental health awareness, crisis response, and intervention. Trainings are delivered to traditional and non-traditional first responders and community professionals.
Curriculum and teaching notes are provided, and trainers are supported with additional training and certification as needed. As community needs evolve, new training are developed, and trainers may be invited to contribute to curriculum development.
This is an as-needed, part-time role based on monthly training demand.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging, in-person trainings using provided curriculum and teaching materials
- Prepare training rooms and materials prior to each session
- Deliver a high quality, interactive learning experience for attendees
- Complete required documentation and reporting following trainings
- Interface directly with training participants and respond to questions professionally
- Maintain knowledge of mental health challenges, crisis intervention strategies, and related topics
- Participate in variety of training topics throughout the year
- Administrative staff will support scheduling and marketing;
Trainers are responsible for preparation, presentation, and participant engagement.
Minimum &
Preferred Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences of varying sizes and backgrounds
Highly Preferred (Ideal Candidate Background):
- Professional experience in Law Enforcement, Dispatch, Corrections, Probation, Parole, Fire Fighter, or Paramedic.
- Candidates with direct experience responding to crises, emergencies, or high-stress situations are strongly encouraged to apply
Also Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences or related field.
- Experience working with allied professionals and industry partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Google applications
- Interest in continuing education related to mental health and crises intervention
Salary: Hourly pay rate is $23.00 to $24.15. The actual hourly rate may vary based on experience, equity, market, and Agency considerations.
