Position Summary
The PTA - Physical Therapy Assistant provides direct rehab care in physical therapy to patients upon physician referral under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (ASPT)
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable state. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • One (1) year experience in post‑acute care or a related setting preferred
  • CPR certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment

Job Requirements
  • Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e‑mail
  • Liaises with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs
  • Demonstrates good body mechanics at all times
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, and laws governing post‑acute care facilities
  • Implements and interprets department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Performs proficiently in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintains professional relationships with all associates and vendors
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
  • Understands and follows company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completing mandatory training
Essential Functions
  • Follow PT treatment plans for patients under the direction of the supervising PT
  • Chart appropriately and timely
  • Utilize therapy software accurately
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
  • Assist in patient evacuations
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Apply reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical tasks (sit, stand, bend, lift, etc.) throughout working hours
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
