Under the administrative supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III and the clinical supervision of a Physician/Surgeon, the Medical Assistant (MA) supports primary care providers in a variety of health‑care settings. The MA performs patient‑oriented procedures, provides support to the Primary Care Team for daily clinic operations, communicates effectively with patients and health‑care team members, and carries out administrative duties.

The MA addresses the ongoing needs of patients, works with physicians and other providers, and promotes efficient, appropriate, and cost‑effective health‑care use.

• Perform patient‑oriented procedures under provider direction.
• Support daily clinic operations for the Primary Care Team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, primary care team, and other health‑care staff.
• Carry out administrative duties and maintain accurate records.
• Promote efficient and cost‑effective use of health‑care resources.

• Valid medical‑assistant certificate issued by an agency approved by the California Department of Consumer Affairs (Medical Board).
• Active certification status prior to appointment.
• Certification from one of the approved agencies:
  American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Certification Association, American Medical Technologists, California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants, Multiple‑Skilled Medical Certification Institute.

• Eligibility for a $10,000 one‑time recruitment/retention stipend and a monthly differential during the first year.
• Eligibility for a $5,000 referral bonus if employed for 90 days.
• Participation in the Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025) providing reduced base salary and leave credits as per the program.
