Night Full Time Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

$15,000 sign‑on bonus offered for new hires. Per policy, current employees are not eligible.

Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a not‑for‑profit hospital and a member of Common spirit Health. The Family Birth Center is a Level‑3 high‑risk facility within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals. The center has 28 beds consisting of 12 labor beds, 2 operating rooms, a 2‑patient PACU, 2 triage bays, and a 14‑bed private mother‑baby unit. It is Joint Commission certified for perinatal care and follows the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding.

As a high‑risk facility, the center receives antepartum patient transfers from all over Northern California, can accommodate patients for extended periods until safe delivery, and has a Level III NICU adjoining the birth center. The center averages 150 deliveries a month supported by nurse shift managers, a perinatal safety specialist, and a perinatal certified nurse specialist. An in‑house OB hospitalist and a designated OB anesthesiologist support patients and staff.

The incumbent is a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the health‑care team, providing leadership, personal and professional development, and conducting themselves professionally.

The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values, in support of Mercy San Juan Medical Center and the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health.

• 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Fetal monitoring experience required
• Current CA RN licensure and AHA BLS and ACLS
• Current NRP certificate
• NCC fetal monitoring certificate or advanced fetal monitoring course completion within 12 months of hire
• Cesarean section experience preferred

$67.57 – $82.06 per hour
