Position Summary
The Pharmacy Tech II ensures availability and delivery of medications to authorized locations/personnel. Maintain in-date inventory of medications. Obtain accurate patient medication history. Prepare and repackage medications accurately. Record and charge supplies/medications to the correct patient/location.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Complies with all requirements related to risk management, safety, security, fire, and infection control. Complies with all applicable state, local and federal regulations.
• Answers phones.
• Attend pharmacy staff meetings/in-services.
• Check in and stock orders – Reorder as required.
• Comply with hospital policies.
• Credit returned meds.
• Deliver controlled substances.
• Deliver Meds/Rounds on hourly or as needed basis.
• Enter charges for manual billing needs.
• Fill meds to be checked by Staff Pharmacists.
• Inspect medication storage locations.
• Inventory and refill Floor Stock, Automated Dispensing Cabinets, and Emergency Trays.
• Maintain organized/accurate/sufficient inventory.
• Maintain safety-integrity-professionalism of pharmacy.
• Obtain accurate home medication histories by chart review, patient interview and phone calls to retail pharmacies and physician offices.
• Other functions as defined/delegated by Direct Supervisor.
• Prepare Accurate/Sterile IV orders.
• Repackage medications – ensure proper authorization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education.
• Active California Pharmacy Technician license (Certification preferred).
• Demonstrated communication, project management, and computer literacy skills.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and perform in high-pressure situations.
