Phlebotomist - PRN ; Franklin, LA

The primary function of the Phlebotomist is to work with the MLS/MT in various areas of the Laboratory, registering patients, collecting samples, and assessing the acceptability of samples for testing.

• Follows laboratory policies and procedures for specimen collection, handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Adheres to the lab’s QC policies, documents all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
• Follows the lab’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the lab’s defined acceptable levels of performance.
• Is capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem or immediately notifies the lab manager/chief technologist.
• Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the lab’s established performance specifications.

• Must have a phlebotomy license from the state of Louisiana.
• At least 2‑3 years of medical laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic preferred.
• Must have at least 2‑3 years of phlebotomy experience.
• BLS Certification upon hire.
