Job Summary /OverviewThe Medical Assistant works with the medical services staff to assist with medical visits and provide initial patient intake. The Medical Assistant works as part of a multidisciplinary team composed of the clinic services coordinator, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and community health workers educators to provide comprehensive care to a primarily low income, non-English speaking population. The Medical Assistant I ensure optimum patient care through the efficient rooming of patients, exhibiting good communication with patients and other staff, performing medical procedures, providing patient education, follow-up care instructions, and completing daily documentation.

MinimumPosition Requirements
- Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. - Satisfactory completion of an accredited medical assistant program in California; CA Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred.
- Must have EMT certification or similar certification in lieu of Medical Assistant certification.
- Phlebotomy Certificate strongly preferred.
- Experience/Lived
Experience:
Entry level position up to one year of experience. - Must certify and remain current in CPR.
- Special Skills/Training:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Computer skills;
Microsoft Office Suite, strong data entry skills; electronic health record system required. - Bilingual in English/Spanish/Dari/Punjabi/Vietnamese strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and attention to detail required.
- Reliable transportation required.
