Hours:

Full Time (40 hours per week)/Exempt
Compensation: $75,000- $84,000/Year DOE+ 5% pay differential for bilingual Spanish/English fluency

Counseling Program Coordinator/Trauma Therapist is a position that requires an empathic, passionate and pragmatic individual who can serve the needs of San Mateo County families. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the position will coordinate RTS’s efforts to ensure quality counseling and/or clinical services for survivors and families affected by sexual abuse/assault. This position will provide trauma-based psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Make face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact with survivors and families within 1 business day of referral from team members
  • Document attempted and completed services into agency database
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support of counseling program
  • Manage the development and maintenance of a trauma-informed therapist referral list
  • Provide direct trauma counseling services, accompaniment and advocacy to children, adults and families
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Counseling Program Director
  • Participate in rotating back-up support to volunteer Sexual Assault Counselors
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sexual abuse/assault survivors and their families utilizing TF-CBT, EMDR, play therapy, art therapy, and/or other evidence based and/or trauma informed therapeutic modalities
  • Perform treatment planning, crisis intervention, advocacy and consultation in collaboration with other multi-disciplinary team members
  • Perform case management and advocacy to ensure families are connected to community service providers
  • Actively participate in clinical supervision
  • Perform other agency responsibilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or closely related mental health field and current License or registration as an Associate with BBS
  • Working knowledge of trauma, attachment, child development, crisis intervention, and psychotherapeutic techniques
  • Experience working with at-risk children, families and caregivers, especially with diverse and underserved populations
  • Organized with the ability to manage many projects simultaneously while attending to detail and quality
  • In-depth knowledge of various intersections that affect the lives of Latinos, both immigrant and U.S. born
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekend and evening hours
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT), Google Drive and other commonly used applications
  • Valid California driver’s license, insurance, and reliable access to transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of professional experience coordinating programs

Salary/Benefits:
