Under the direction of the Executive Director/Director of Health Services, the Care Services Manager is responsible for the coordination, supervision and directing of the work of the Assisted Living staff and ensures the resident needs are met according to federal and state regulations as well as company policy.

• Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co‑workers and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Follows all safety procedures and assures all staff do so.
• Supervises all activities of Assisted Living to assure quality care.
• Ensures 24‑hour provision of nursing services within Assisted Living.
• Coordinates and performs resident assessment and plan of care evaluations to ensure residents are at the appropriate level of care and services; consults with DON and/or Director of Health Services for professional assistance.
• Completes rounds as necessary; responds to medical alert calls as required.
• Orientates new staff to ensure quality of care for residents; dispenses work assignments and assures completion before end of shift.
• Is responsible for completing performance appraisals timely as well as coaching and counseling of residential care staff.
• Keeps proper resident care documentation and ensures charts are in order; maintains required documentation as per federal, state and company policy.
• Acts as liaison between family, residents and physicians, supervising the health care services and programs to residents.
• Coordinates resident admissions and transfers with other departments and/or community agencies.
• Supervises and participates in resident interdisciplinary care plan conferences; supervises documentation in resident health records and reviews scheduled audits.
• Participates in budget planning and monitoring of fee scheduling and charging for services and cost‑effective utilization of resources.
• Responsible for orientation and ongoing in‑service education, including safety procedure and awareness training of all assisted living nursing staff.
• Promotes stimulation, uplifting and comfortable environments for residents, families and staff.

• Current licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing or the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians; experience in long‑term care community health, geriatric and/or rehabilitative nursing desirable; 5 years’ experience working in a senior community and have supervisory experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Basic mathematical skills required.
• Must be able to understand, follow, support and initiate policies and procedures of the facility; recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately; plan, organize, prioritize and implement work assignments efficiently; function effectively with no supervision.

• Moderate standing, walking, talking, listening, grasping, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, smelling, pushing and pulling.
• Must be able to wear gloves to guard against exposure to body fluids and cleaning agents.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand, climb or balance and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Regulationally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move above 50 pounds with the assistance from a co‑worker and/or mechanical means.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Exposed to moisture in showers and in other procedures; potential for exposure to body fluids and cleaning agents; possible contact with needles and sharp objects.
• Noise level is usually moderate.
