The College has one (01) vacancy for an Independent Member to serve in its ARC.Consequently,the College thereby invites membersof the publicwho are suitablyqualifiedand experienced in the fieldof finance/auditing, with a good understanding of the functioning of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College, the Continuing Education and Training (CET) Act (16 of 2006, as amended), to apply to serve in the ARC asan independent member in terms of Section 12(1)(b) of the CET Act.
The role of the committee is to provide independent assurance and assistance on matters relating to the control environment,governance,andriskmanagement.
- Postgraduate qualification in Accounting/Internal or External Auditing; or
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the following fields:
- Membership with the relevant and recognized Professional Body.
Competency, understanding, and experience:
Previous Audit and Risk Committee experience in the Public Sector, Governance and Risk Management, Internal Audit, IT Governance, Financial Reporting, Financial Statements, Internal Controls, Combined Assurance, Internal and External Audit processes, Performance Management, other applicable legislation, and best practice, conducting investigations where necessary. Experience /knowledge/understanding of the TVET College Sector will be an added advantage.
The term of office of the Audit and Risk Committee is 3 (three) years or unless the Council decides otherwise.
The applicant is required to attach certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document to the application form. The applicant will be subjected to a vetting process. The application should be strictly made on the attached nomination form.
