Associate Warden – Correctional Administrator, Department of Corrections (DOC) – California Correctional Institution, Tehachapi, Kern County. Job Code: JC-509278, Position #:

-XXX. Salary: $13,161.00 – $15,067.00 (minimum salary for new state hires).

Under the direction of the Chief Deputy Warden and as a member of the Warden’s Executive Staff, the Associate Warden serves as the administrative head of a large program division with primary custodial responsibility.

Responsibilities include:

planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating correctional programs such as custody, classification, appeals, business management, academic and vocational education, religious guidance, and library services. The Associate Warden coordinates these activities with other institutional programs, acts as the day‑to‑day Administrative Officer on a rotating basis, and represents the Warden or Chief Deputy Warden in their absence.

Must meet the minimum qualifications set forth in the Class Specification for the CORRECTIONAL ADMINISTRATOR, DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
