Job Description And Duties

Under general direction of the Environmental Program Manager I, the Senior Environmental Planner (Specialist) performs the most difficult and complex work which is crucial to the Department's mission. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating with Department staff, Headquarters, local agencies, resource agencies, private stakeholders, and the public in the development of various transportation projects. The incumbent is responsible for resolving complex problems regarding environmental compliance and the timely delivery of work products.

Additionally, the incumbent acts as a liaison with Departmental staff, Headquarters staff, local agencies, land management agencies, and the public in the development and delivery process as needed.

For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
