About The PositionThe Riverside County Sheriff's Office is recruiting Correctional Deputy Trainees and Deputy Sheriff Trainees to serve throughout Riverside County. Trainees will attend the designated academy and, upon successful completion, advance to the full‑time ranks.
Pay & Salary- Correctional Deputy Trainee: $28.93/hr (12‑week academy) – $33.49–$46.62/hr (upon promotion to Deputy II)
- Deputy Sheriff Trainee: $39.35–$51.64/hr (6‑month academy) – $42.35–$64.75/hr (upon promotion)
- Correctional Deputy Trainee: 12‑week academy
- Correctional Deputy I – upon academy completion
- Correctional Deputy II – after 18‑month probationary period
- Deputy Sheriff Trainee: 6‑month academy
- Deputy Sheriff – upon academy completion
The Sheriff's Office staffs over 3,600 dedicated men and women and covers more than 7,300 square miles of Southern California, providing service with integrity, professionalism, and leadership.
Essential Duties- Laterals and Pre‑Service ( for detailed responsibilities).
- Education: High‑school diploma, Math‑English Certificate of Proficiency, or a satisfactory G.E.D. score.
- License: Valid driver’s license at the time of application.
- Legal Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law.
- Age: 18+ for Correctional Deputy Trainee; 20 years 9 months+ for Deputy Sheriff Trainee.
Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all listed steps. Successful candidates will be referred to the Ben Clark Training Center for academy training.
