THE POSITIONAs an Office Assistant III, you may lead the work of other clerical support staff; perform a variety of complex and advanced clerical work in support of a functional work unit or program; receive and process information, by phone or in person, based upon the needs of the programs to which you are assigned. You will handle a variety of sensitive and/or complex administrative matters using independent judgment in applying established practices and procedures;
perform related work as directed.
Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of full‑time work experience that demonstrates possession of and competency in the requisite knowledge and abilities. If assigned to a lead worker position, six (6) months of previous lead worker experience is required.
Applicants are required to demonstrate intermediate word processing skills and may be required to type at a speed of fifty (50) words per minute. Demonstration of these skills will be done during an online skill exam.

Based on the information provided in the application documents, qualified applicants may be invited for further examination and will either be pre‑scheduled by the Department of Human Resources or be invited to self‑schedule. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Depending on the number of applications received, the selection process may consist of an initial application screening, a mandatory information meeting, a supplemental questionnaire assessment, a written and/or practical exam, an oral board exam, or any combination listed.
Responses to supplemental questions may be used as screening and testing mechanisms and will be used to assess an applicant’s ability to advance in the process; as such, responses to supplemental questions should be treated as test examination responses. A minimum score of 70% is required to continue in the selection process, unless otherwise announced.
