Overview
The Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department is seeking a passionate and skilled Public Information Associate to help shape how the community connects with vital programs and services. You will be the voice of the department—crafting compelling stories, engaging with diverse audiences, and ensuring transparent communication through multiple media channels.
What You’ll Do- Write and share press releases, newsletters, and digital content
- Manage social media and media relations
- Support public outreach and engagement campaigns
- Track current events and media trends affecting the department
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Public Relations, English
, or a closely related field.
- Two years of professional-level experience in public relations administering a public information program, providing research, analysis, recommendations, and program support to management - OR -
- Two years of professional experience as a journalist within a media organization.
Alternative Education/Experience Options:
- 1 year of college credit + 5 years of qualifying experience
- 2 years of college credit + 4 years of qualifying experience
- 3 years of college credit + 3 years of qualifying experience
- 6 years of qualifying experience with no college credit
Strong communication skills, media savvy, and passion for public service
SalaryBase pay range: $75,860.76/yr - $91,717.20/yr
