Senior Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $,000 to $,000 per year.

• Support an accurate and timely month‑end close by preparing needed schedules and entries.
• Create journal entries for loan‑related activity including funding sales escrow movements and servicing transactions.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and analyze loan system balances including roll‑forward reviews and movement research.
• Assist the controller with system integration work including enhancements, new implementations and ongoing maintenance.
• Prepare business property tax filings and research general ledger variances in collaboration with servicing production support and finance teams.

• A Bachelor degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of experience as a senior loan accountant within a mortgage banking environment.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of general ledger accounting and related internal controls.
• Use Microsoft Office with expert level skill, especially in Excel, and work with loan accounting systems with confidence.
• Communicate effectively when resolving cost center issues and reviewing transaction activity.

• Possess knowledge of residential loan terminology, loan lifecycle stages and related products.
• Maintain accurate reconciliations and schedules that support clear audit trails.
• Work collaboratively across departments to resolve discrepancies and strengthen system accuracy.
• Apply strong analytical ability to research financial movements and provide timely explanations.
• Support continuous improvements in systems and accounting workflows while maintaining high attention to detail.
