Location: California

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Tax Director to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $195,000 to $225,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute corporate tax strategies that align with business goals while maintaining strong compliance and risk controls.
  • Oversee preparation and review of federal state local and Canadian returns and ensure timely accurate provision work in line with accounting standards.
  • Lead tax audits and inquiries, manage responses to authorities and coordinate with external advisors to reduce risk.
  • Partner with accounting, treasury, legal, technology and operations to ensure accurate data reporting, transfer pricing support and compliance across entities.
  • Improve tax systems documentation and workflows by promoting efficiency, automation and consistent processes across the organization.
Requirements
  • A bachelor degree in accounting, finance or a related field with a master in taxation preferred.
  • Maintain an active CPA and bring at least ten years of progressive corporate tax experience including leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of United States and Canadian income tax, indirect tax and accounting for income taxes under applicable guidance.
  • Communicate complex tax topics clearly to senior leaders and non‑tax partners and provide practical recommendations.
  • Use Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills and learn reporting applications such as One Source, Planful, Power BI, Blackline and Ariba.
Qualifications
  • Identify planning opportunities, evaluate cross border and restructuring impacts and monitor legislative changes to guide decisions.
  • Ensure accurate quarterly and annual provisions, maintain audit‑ready documentation and support transfer pricing requirements.
  • Lead and mentor team members, promote technical excellence and support growth and performance.
  • Support integration activities and alignment with parent company expectations for reporting and compliance.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills while managing deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
