Overview
Cost Accounting Manager. Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Cost Accounting Manager Consultant to join a fast-growing, innovative organization. This is a highly visible role where you’ll apply deep cost accounting expertise to support complex manufacturing operations and help scale financial processes in a high-growth environment.
This role is a Contract to Hire position which will initially be 20 hours/week but will grow into 40 hours/week.
As a key member of the finance team, you will lead the development and maintenance of cost accounting processes, analyze financial and operational data, and deliver actionable insights that drive efficiency and cost optimization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, partnering cross-functionally, and making a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain cost accounting processes in Net Suite
, supporting semiconductor and hardware manufacturing operations. - Establish and manage standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead; monitor, analyze, and report cost variances.
- Partner closely with engineering and operations teams to understand project scope, timelines, and resource requirements for accurate cost modeling.
- Analyze historical cost data and provide actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Own monthly and quarterly cost forecasting, ensuring alignment with the overall financial plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes, reporting, and automation.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation of inventory and cost variance analysis reports.
- Prepare quarterly inventory reserve analyses.
- Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation, including cycle counts and obsolescence reviews.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to scale and optimize cost accounting processes as the business grows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of cost accounting experience, including at least 5 years in the semiconductor industry.
- Strong ERP experience, preferably Net Suite
. - Advanced analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail; strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
