Cooper Douglas is partnering with a publicly traded, multi-brand consumer company, in seeking a Vice President of Accounting to lead its corporate and operational accounting functions.
This is a highly visible leadership role within a dynamic, multi-entity organization undergoing significant growth and operational scaling. The company is building modern financial infrastructure to support increasing complexity, public-company reporting standards, and long‑term expansion.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Accounting will own all aspects of corporate and operational accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting. They will lead and develop a high‑performing accounting organization while designing scalable systems, controls, and processes aligned with public‑company requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, consolidations, revenue recognition, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Own the monthly close process and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full GAAP compliance across all entities
- Design and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks
- Build, mentor, and retain a high‑caliber accounting team with a culture of accountability and excellence
- Prepare and present financial results to executive leadership and the board, including performance trends and operational insights
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, management reporting, and executive dashboards
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning to support profitability and growth objectives
- Provide technical accounting leadership on complex transactions, contracts, and capital investments
- Oversee capital asset accounting and tax strategy execution
- Evaluate current processes and lead automation and ERP enhancements, including Net Suite optimization
- Improve operational efficiency across revenue, payroll, and intercompany accounting workflows
- Drive accounting strategies that support margin expansion, cost discipline, and scalable growth
- Serve as a trusted cross‑functional partner to operations, legal, tax, and executive leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA required
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience including public accounting and senior leadership within a publicly traded, multi‑entity organization
- Demonstrated success operating in a publicly traded organization.
- Deep technical expertise in revenue recognition, consolidations, and intercompany accounting
- ERP implementation or optimization experience required. Net Suite strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting proficiency
- Proven ability to lead organizations through growth and transformation while maintaining control and precision
- Executive presence with strong communication, leadership, and decision‑making capability
