We are a cutting-edge enterprise software company based in San Francisco seeking an experienced Part-Time Contract Full-Charge Bookkeeper. This role oversees all aspects of financial management—including accounting, multi-state and federal compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting—while developing and maintaining strong internal controls to support the company’s growth.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. You should be comfortable handling complex situations with professionalism, exercising sound judgment, confidentiality, and initiative. Quick Books expertise is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-charge bookkeeping, including A/P, timely invoicing, A/R, and General Ledger management
- Track and manage the financial aspects of multiple projects
- Apply deferred revenue accounting for license and maintenance agreements
- Maintain and update a customized cash flow projection spreadsheet
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and file multi-state and federal regulatory reports
- Support multi-state and Canadian tax compliance
- Prepare tax documentation for CPA review
- Create annual budgets, track expenditures, and analyze variances
- Ensure compliance with state tax filing requirements
- Conduct research related to accounting and finance
- Assist with benefits administration
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 7+ years of bookkeeping and/or financial administration experience
- Advanced Quick Books Desktop skills (5+ years)
- Familiarity with ADP Payroll
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
- Ability to research effectively (Google) and understand legal terms
- Experience in the enterprise software industry is a strong plus
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strategic planning experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexible, reliable, and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic
