About the Role

We are seeking a Controller with Manufacturing/Inventory Control Management and Costing experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly management reports including but not limited to financial statements of all individual entities and consolidated reports, key performance indicators, and related management dashboards.
  • Oversee the disbursement activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of payables with the 3-way matching process in place.
  • Review monthly AP aging reports and accruals.
  • Manage global treasury activities and banking relationships for both US and Mexico. Included in this treasury function is the regular submission of agreed covenants with the bank.
  • Oversee inventory control management including cost updates, item set up, and inventory audits.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls such as annual budget, cash planning and forecast to ensure proper management of the company’s resources.
  • Review risk assessment of the company and coordinates with insurance brokers related to General Liability, Umbrella, EPL, Cyber, D&O, and Workers Comp insurance coverages.
  • Manage ERP accounting processing and activities, with limited involvement on IT related projects impacting the department.
  • Supervise data reporting team for the regular operations, sales, and accounting reporting requirements.
  • Review and finalize HR-submitted payroll batches bi-weekly and check statistic management.
  • Assure corporate tax and other financial regulatory compliance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required filings including ESOP and 401K plan audits, and customs related reporting (CTPAT).
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax CPAs, and valuation firms for quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Oversee HR admin processes and activities including health benefits enrolment, Workers Comp claims and audit, annual performance review, and events and programs.
  • Responds to the CEO/Founder and senior management team on inquiries and prepare requested management reports and sensitivity analyses.
  • Supervises and guides departmental staff and their activities - 7 staff in the US and 9 staff from Mexico.
  • Assist the Finance Head in general projects and or audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum BS degree in accounting or finance, and Accounting Certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
Required Skills
  • Proven work experience as a Controller of a mid-size company.
  • Experienced in inventory control, distribution environment, manufacturing.
  • 10+ years accounting experience, 5+ years in management level.
  • Experience with ERP systems;
    Infor LN experience a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, pivot tables, and using advanced formulas).
  • Excellent analytical skills for managing large amounts of data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Team management skills – delegation and ability to prioritize work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding and prior experience with cross-border or Mexico maquiladora operations a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish is not a requirement, but definitely a plus.
  • Pass a background check.
