Overview

We’re currently retained by a profitable, fast-scaling DTC/Subscription brand in Los Angeles whose currently hiring their first in-house Finance Lead
. Bootstrapped from day one, profitable since month four, and now generating over $50M in revenue, they’ve built one of the leanest, most disciplined consumer businesses in the space. With 130+ employees and all fulfillment in-house, they’re gearing up for the next phase of growth — with eyes on crossing nine figures in revenue over the next 3 years.

They are seekinga strategic, hands-on leader who can build the finance function from the ground up, whilst operating as a key strategic thought partner to the CEO and Founder.

This is a foundational hire and a rare opportunity to step into a high-growth, highly profitable business as the most senior finance leader. You’ll own everything from accounting infrastructure to forward-looking strategic finance — building the systems, teams, and insights that will help guide the business toward its long-term vision.

You’ll report directly to the co-founders and work closely with cross-functional leaders across product, merchandising, growth, and operations. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to evolve into the company’s first CFO.

• Own and lead all core finance functions: accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, AR/AP, inventory tracking, and tax
• Establish scalable systems, controls, and processes — including cash flow management, COGS tracking, and margin analysis
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and visibility across all financial reporting and processes
• Prepare the company for its first formal audit

• Partner directly with founders on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Build FP&A capabilities and drive proactive insights into business performance and key levers
• Develop reporting frameworks that enable better decision-making across the org
• Play a key role in board-level reporting, fundraising readiness (if pursued), and overall business strategy
• Manage and mentor existing staff accountant and evolve the finance function into a high-performing team
• Build out internal roles as needed (Controller, FP&A, Accounting Ops, etc.)
• Work cross-functionally to align teams around margin, spend, and growth targets

• 8+ years of experience across accounting, FP&A, and strategic finance roles
• Strong grounding in DTC, consumer subscription, or inventory-heavy businesses
• Experience building or heavily shaping the finance function at a high-growth startup or growth-stage company
• Hands‑on operator mindset — able to own the details while seeing the bigger picture
• Deep understanding of accounting systems, internal controls, and inventory processes
• Excellent communicator who thrives in founder‑led, entrepreneurial environments
• CPA a plus, but not required
