Assistant Controller

Our client is a BDC. They seek an Assistant Controller to join their Los Angeles, CA office.

• Oversee day-to-day operations for multiple funds with complex structures
• Direct quarterly and annual GAAP reporting, coordinating closely with administrators and auditors on deliverables such as management fees and waterfall calculations
• Manage overall fund liquidity, including cash management, projections, capital calls, distributions, and credit facility activity
• Coordinate tax-related workflows with internal and external tax partners
• Support investor inquiries and development of marketing materials for upcoming fund launches
• Handle compliance reporting, including credit facility requirements and regulatory submissions
• Partner with investment operations and performance teams to ensure smooth operational alignment
• Administer key expense processes while ensuring adherence to partnership agreements and management reporting needs
• Implement new processes and systems, including fund administrator onboarding, expense process enhancements, reporting system integrations, and offshore resource coordination
• Mentor colleagues and supervise deliverables from external administrators

• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Combo or public experience preferred
• Manager level experience is a plus
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical
• CPA preferred
