Essentialduties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assist in all aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, financial accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of financial statements for review.
- Prepare and analyze financial management presentations for the President, Management Team, and Bank.
- Maintain key metrics to help provide insights into business performance including sales velocity by salesperson and region, pipeline velocity, sales productivity, labor efficiency, margin analysis, etc.
- Assist in end‑of‑month closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure a documented system of accounting policies and procedures is followed by the organization.
- Assist in the accounting department cross‑training.
- Cash Flow: coordinate collections with our A/R staff and provide cash flow projections.
- Monitor and reconcile cash and funding balances.
- Advise management through financial analyses, and decision‑making regarding capital investments, pricing, significant costs, benchmarks, budgeting, financial forecasting, margin analysis, and other matters.
- Coordinate audit and tax preparation services.
- Financial reporting of weekly and monthly sales accounts and cost center reporting.
- Oversee payments made for debts, bank loans, and overseas vendors.
- Define benchmarks and implement operational best.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
- Management of several accounting department team members.
- Job may require other projects and special duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting and financial analysis, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license is a plus, but not mandatory.
- 5 or more years experience in Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, and supervisory or managerial positions.
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Sage 500 a plus, but not mandatory; experience in software systems implementation a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Slides skills.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
- Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
- Ability to improve our processes and quality of information.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including exposure to leadership presentations.
- Strong analytical experience, with expertise in financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting skills.
- Experience building financial reporting decks for various audiences (Management Team, Sales Staff).
- Excellent analytic and problem‑solving skills, proactive approach.
