Dock Attendant

Summary

To provide courteous and efficient service to all guests utilizing Marina and Marina equipment, to maximize guest satisfaction and Marina revenue.

• Handle all cash and charge sales made through the fuel dock.
• Check out/in all rental boats.
• Report supply levels on guest supplies for rental boats and fuel dock to Marina Manager.
• Record fuel pump readings.
• Maintain all areas of Marina with a high level of sanitation, (including: all dock areas, rental boats, beach area, etc.)
• Report all accidents to Marina Manager.
• Alert Marina Manager of potential hazard issues and prevent accidents whenever possible.
• Report all incidents of guest dissatisfaction to the Marina Manager.
• Assist guest with the highest level of professionalism possible.
• Will perform other duties as required.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, have an innate sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

Must be a strong swimmer and be familiar with boats.

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
• The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
