Welding Engineer

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

We are looking for a Welding Engineer to be responsible for managing welding projects and working with the welding team. The responsibilities of a Welding Engineer include providing consulting services, coordinating multiple projects, and overseeing the welding procedures. The incumbent will also provide support to the Chief Product Engineer to ensure a professionally and efficiently run department and to support the Chief Product Engineer in this capacity on various AAR Committees and Industry Task Groups.

• Leading welding projects
• Analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements
• Reviewing welding procedures, processes, and documentation
• Managing welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding teams
• Investigate welding related issues to improve product performance and increase productivity
• Troubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutions
• Conducting failure analysis and cause analysis on welding issues
• Overseeing production and ensuring that products conform to FRA standards, market specifications and safety regulations

• Customer service skills
• Advanced analytical and design skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of industry and market trends
• Good project management skills

• Bachelor’s degree in welding engineering or related field, from an accredited college or university.
• 1 or more years experience in Welding Engineering in manufacturing environment
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma
• Regulated industry experience required (FRA, AAR, DOT) experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a national heavy industrial manufacturing business preferred.
• Experience building relationships with customers, vendors, and departments
• Experience with factory support and improving sustaining operations.
