Intern, Sustainability (Recycling & Recovery)

Job Responsibilities

Gain hands‑on experience addressing waste and recycling‑related challenges across Marina Bay Sands, while supporting compliance with the Resource Sustainability Act (RSA) and contributing to the resort’s sustainability goals.

Assist in the planning and execution of waste and recycling related projects, including innovation pilots (POCs), stakeholder coordination, and internal engagement activities.

Support the team in conducting waste segregation trainings for internal and external stakeholders.

Help prepare and execute team member engagement programs focused on waste segregation awareness and RSA compliance across various departments.

Understand and support the operation of bin centres, food waste treatment machines, waste tracking systems, and other waste management technologies for Marina Bay Sands.

Perform basic analysis of waste and recycling data and assist in preparing presentations and communications materials for sustainability updates to key stakeholders.

Participate in kitchen inspections to observe RSA compliance and recycling practices, gaining exposure to operational sustainability efforts.

Support the team with research into leading sustainability innovations, including circular economy solutions, recycling technologies, and waste reduction strategies applicable to Marina Bay Sands.

Support corporate sustainability related projects (cross‑property audits, etc).

Job Requirements Education & Certification

Must be from related academic disciplines in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or Project and Facilities Management.

Experience

No experience required as training will be provided.

Other Prerequisites
  • Possess passion, knowledge and drive to create a more sustainable world.
  • Ability to analyze data and articulate business value of sustainability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work within a diverse team.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, and at least one other language.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
