The Doe Run Company is seeking an Environmental Compliance Supervisor to serve as onsite environmental compliance subject matter expert to assist division leadership in maintaining compliance with all applicable state and federal laws regarding air, water, waste, and environmental monitoring. This position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO.

This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan. Benefits start on the first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.
Education & Experience- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental field work and managing complex projects.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adaptive, I-Series, and People Soft.
- Advanced knowledge of MSHA/OSHA and environmental sampling requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Ensure division compliance with all government rules and regulations. Initiate in-operations monitoring and checklists in support of environmental compliance. Initiate, supervise, and monitor projects to further environmental compliance.
- Provide supervision, training, and coaching to environmental team members.
- Shipments, data entry, inspections, training implementation, and program management, labeling, manifest tracking, and filing conduct employee training to support environmental stewardship and compliance.
- Conduct multiple inspections and audits on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis including weekly hazardous waste inspections as needed.
- Complete visual inspections and follow-up on fieldwork documentation, reporting, and sampling. Represent facility during agency inspections.
- Read, interpret, and remain current on governmental regulations pertaining to environmental compliance. Directly interface with regulators and participate in industry trade associations.
- Supervise permitting requirements for surface and underground water programs.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regularly required to use telephone/radio and computer/tablet.
- Regularly required to work in outdoor weather conditions, wear PPE, including but not limited to a respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection. Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally required to work in extreme heat (non-weather). Occasionally required to work in confined spaces, wet, humid conditions (non-weather), vibration, working at heights of 4’ or more with fall protection. Occasionally exposed to loud noise.

Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision. - Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
