About the Role
The Regional Sales Manager applies the principles of electrical engineering to assist H-J customers in selecting the right product in H-J’s vast portfolio of industrial parts and machinery to fit their individualized needs; provides timely responses to customers’ technical questions about equipment applications, installation, and troubleshooting; and helps H-J customers understand the technical characteristics of the highly complex nature of H-J’s products used in Power Transformers, Switchgears and Utility Markets.
What You’ll Do
- Technical sales of heavy electrical industry components for key H-J customers in the energy sector;
- Applies the principles of electrical engineering to analyze H-J customers’ individualized requirements and identifies which in the vast portfolio of H-J’s products will satisfy client needs and maximize client productivity and efficiency;
- Leverages engineering expertise to communicate effectively with clients to ensure they understand the technical characteristics of the highly complex nature of H-J’s products;
- Coordinates educational sessions for external and internal customers to develop technical knowledge of H-J products for applications in Power Transformers, Switchgears and Utility Markets;
- Provides technical support to customers during and after new product installations and provides timely responses to technical questions to ensure the proper application of H-J components and materials;
- Leads the identification, development, and sales of new products to be included in H-J portfolio to expand markets and better serve client needs;
- Coordinates between H-J areas of Production, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D and Engineering to analyze performance data, ensure on-time deliveries, and determine areas of opportunity for improvement, allowing us to problem-solve and carry out prevention strategies, and make innovations in our production and service processes, with the overall goal to ensure and increase customer satisfaction; and
- Identifies and develops new customers and new potential industries within the U.S. territory where H-J can increase sales using technical manufacturing capabilities.
Position allows for occasional telecommuting within commuting distance of reporting office in High Ridge, MO.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (or foreign equivalent).
The Position requires at least five (5) years' experience in each of the following:
- Working in the power transformer industry;
- Managing customer sales accounts for the power transformer manufacturing industry;
- Developing sales proposals based on assessment of specific customer requirements, including introducing products in new markets; and
- Delivering technical presentations to explain products and/or services.
The Position requires up to 50% domestic travel to visit regional customers.
