Alliance Water Resources is a growing water and wastewater contract operations company with an open Operator I position in the Hazelwood, MO area.

Shifts are 12hr with alternating weekends and nights.

This is a technical position that engages in a variety of activities to wastewater systems, and customer service. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Local Manager.

Essential Functions:

Performs the operation, maintenance and repair of all equipment including wastewater treatment facility related equipment.
Provides assistance to contractors and local utilities as needed; performs plan reviews and coordinates with consulting engineers as required.
May provide on-site project management, installing equipment, and conducting testing programs.
Assists in responding to client, customer, or agency complaints or inquiries; recommends improvements to eliminate problems.
Performs inspections on plant operations and activities including equipment, maintenance, and safety related issues; recommends replacements and specifications for new equipment; orders materials and equipment within appropriate authority.
Performs prevention programs and maintains related records.
Communicates with clients, staff, customers, contractors/developers, and employees regarding customer service requests, and general wastewater system issues.
Investigates and takes appropriate action in response to complaints.
Participates in related professional association activities; stays knowledgeable of new developments in materials, equipment and processes to ensure effective and efficient operation of the systems.
Assists in facility tours; maintains positive relationships with co-workers, clients, customers, and vendors.
Develops and implements SOPs and Emergency Response Plans.
Reviews and maintains inventory of materials according to set procedures; authorizes the purchasing of materials within authority limits.
Assures proper safety standards and precautions are followed and that all safety equipment is available and in good working condition according to company policy and equipment manual.
Prepares reports and maintains records to meet federal, state, local, and company requirements.

Requirements

High School Graduate
Possession of a valid driver's license
Preferred: Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate

Experience:

Progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of wastewater systems
Knowledge of proper and effective practices, methods, and procedures related to wastewater system maintenance and construction.
Knowledge of state and federal standards and regulations governing wastewater facilities and systems. Knowledge of basic principles of mechanical and hydraulic theory.
Knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to the use and operation of motorized equipment and hand/power tools.
Knowledge of effective supervisory practices and techniques.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and evaluate the work of staff.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees, clients, and vendors.
Ability to resolve problems in stressful conditions using sound judgment.
Ability to operate computers and related programs.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply laboratory and statistical data.
Ability to work in all weather conditions; walk across rough terrain; climb stairs and vertical ladders.
Ability to move, lift, and/or manipulate equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Work in confined spaces, bend, stoop and twist as necessary
