OverviewA heavily funded, early-stage engineering startup in the South Bay area of Los Angeles (moving to Torrance soon) is looking to hire a full time permanent Electrical Engineer with a specialist focus on Sensor Systems. Backed by substantial recent venture capital, they are seeking an Engineer to join a stacked team of 15 solving global water scarcity.

- Salary & Upside: Base salary between $100,000 - $165,000 with significant equity in a ground-floor opportunity.
They combine advanced environmental science with aerospace engineering rigor. Developing portable, off-grid hardware designed for disaster relief and remote living. They are moving from prototype to global deployment, creating systems that ensure safe water access anywhere in the world.
The RoleYou will lead the design of advanced sensor systems that drive the core logic of the hardware. Collaborating with firmware and mechanical teams, you will:
- Develop Systems: Lead the design of sensor circuits, including signal conditioning, interfacing, and noise reduction.
- Select Tech: Evaluate and select critical sensors (pressure, flow, conductivity) for performance in harsh environments.
- Calibration: Develop testing procedures to validate sensor accuracy across various environmental conditions.
- Integration: Support embedded integration and ensure seamless data acquisition.
- Scale: Assist in DFM efforts to transition sensor assemblies into mass production.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics (or related).
- Experience: 1+ years in PCB design, sensor system design and analog signal chains.
- Technical: Strong understanding of noise filtering, interface protocols, and mixed-signal debugging.
- Tools: Proficiency in Altium, KiCad, or Eagle.
- Soft Skills: A collaborative mindset suited for a fast-paced, tight-knit team.
- Experience with embedded firmware for sensor data processing.
- Knowledge of calibration and linearization techniques.
- Exposure to fluid systems, water quality sensors, or process instrumentation.
- Background in ruggedized or field-deployable electronics.
