About the Role

LS Power is seeking qualified Field Engineers to support the construction of large‑scale high‑voltage transmission and substation projects. The Field Engineer is a full‑time, site‑based role responsible for managing field‑related documentation, assisting the Construction Manager as needed, and serving as the technical and administrative liaison between the project site team and the office‑based engineering group. This position works closely with the Construction Manager and Construction Inspectors to ensure project compliance, accuracy of field data, and timely communication of technical information.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Construction Manager with on‑site coordination and documentation tasks.
  • Verify contractor‑provided information such as field progress, testing results, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure required contractor site documentation (e.g., bills of lading, test reports, safety forms, training records, permits) is submitted, reviewed, and properly filed.
  • Manage and control construction drawings, specifications, and permit documents on site.
  • Maintain organized logs including RFIs, non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and issue tracking.
  • Manage the RFI process and coordinate with engineering, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare daily field reports.
  • Assist the Construction Manager and Inspectors with meeting preparation, documentation, and scribing as needed.
  • Provide photo documentation and field reporting in support of construction progress tracking.
  • Serve as the key interface between field teams and office‑based engineering or EPC leadership.
Qualifications
  • Experience on active construction sites, ideally within the transmission, substation, or utility sectors.
  • Well‑organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced field environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and permit documentation.
  • Clear and confident communication with both field and office teams.
  • Understanding of field documentation requirements such as RFIs, test reports, SWPPP records, and safety forms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using document management tools.
  • Initiative, independent work style, and ability to thrive in a collaborative, problem‑solving environment.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field (preferred).
  • Willingness to be based full‑time at a construction site.
