Textron Systems – ATAC provides tactical flight training and adversary aggressor services for U.S. Navy, Marine and Air Force pilots. Operating across eight sites and two continents, ATAC is the world’s largest outsourced civilian, tactical airborne training organization. ATAC trains USAF F‑22 Raptors and delivers high‑quality live training to squadrons, air wings and battle groups.

The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintenance actions on ATAC aircraft and for safe, expeditious launch and recovery flight line operations at permanent and detachment sites.

• Maintenance efforts in support of company commitments
• Proficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraft
• Utilize AMS program
• Training of maintenance personnel
• Manage assigned maintenance programs
• Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary)
• Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and functional components
• Perform 100‑hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and accessories; perform preflight, thru‑flight and post‑flight maintenance inspections
• Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturer’s manuals
• Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
• Additional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew Chiefs
• Manage programs as assigned

• Minimum requirements include an A&P certification or at least 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency
• Unsupervised complex maintenance capability; holds or has held QAR, engine turn, or advanced troubleshooting qualification; capable of managing collateral programs, training junior mechanics, and using specialized tooling or test equipment
• Performance monitored by supervision and reviewed annually
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb in and out of the aircraft, and stand for long periods
