Responsibilities
  • Manage hazardous waste facilities in compliance with Large Quantity Generator (LQG) regulations and other relevant statutes.
  • Coordinate directly with Center personnel and ensure routine access to ARC facilities for operational needs.
  • Maintain and update waste management and disposal records using government‑provided databases, including waste characterizations, sampling requests, and non‑conformance documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records such as analytical results, waste profiles, manifests, LDR forms, container logs, and inspection records; provide records to the Government upon request.
  • Review returned manifests and submit error and exception reports to regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Prepare and submit annual hazardous waste generator fee returns, hazardous waste reports, EPA  questionnaires, PCB inventory logs, pesticide usage reports, asbestos notifications, and other required regulatory reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and update hazardous waste contingency plans and site‑specific contingency plans.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to waste minimization efforts, source reduction, and management review acts.
  • Develop emergency response pre‑plans for potential spills and hazardous waste incidents.
  • Create, maintain, and update waste management procedural manuals, work instructions, SOPs, and sampling plans.
  • Conduct hazardous waste characterization sampling, including PCB wipe sampling, and submit samples to State‑cert laboratories.
  • Perform quarterly and weekly compliance inspections of PCB‑containing items, hazardous waste CAAs, universal waste sites, and satellite accumulation areas (SAAs).
  • Verify monthly checklists and accumulation start dates during routine waste pickups.
  • Provide containers for hazardous waste storage and disposal as directed.
  • Arrange for timely pickup and offsite disposal of hazardous, universal, non‑hazardous, PCB, asbestos‑containing, mixed, medical, and other regulated wastes.
  • Segregate, store, package, and process regulated waste in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare hazardous waste manifests and disposal documentation for Government or Contractor signature.
  • Support hazardous waste generators with proper labeling, storage, and waste management practices.
  • Consult on potential waste issues related to equipment excess and disposal.
  • Ensure all activities meet regulatory requirements and maintain thorough communication and coordination with Center personnel and Government entities.

The salary range for this position is $100 - 130K. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
