CBA Aircraft Mechanic II - Power Plants (P3/C130) - NTWP - Point Mugu, CA Responsibilities
Perform scheduled/unscheduled O-Level maintenance on squadron T/M/S aircraft airframe, ordnance, power plants, corrosion control and painting, and related systems hired to maintain.
Perform flight‑line essential services as directed to the daily flight schedule.
Maintain and repair aircraft engine systems, structures and structural components of moderate difficulty; maintain and repair flight controls, power plants, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and interpret technical documentation such as blueprints, maintenance manuals and directives.
Lead teams through complex aircraft tasks, enter aircraft logs, maintain schedules and maintenance standards on assigned projects; conduct routine lifting and ordnance loading per USN procedures.
Direct Level I work‑center personnel, provide guidance and technical expertise; may be required to become Plane Captain certified per government process if cross‑trained to support.
Qualifications- Minimum of five years USN/USMC/USCG O‑Level CNAFINST 4790.2 aircraft maintenance support experience.
- Not less than three years T/M aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.
- Two years of T/M/S organizational maintenance experience within the last seven years.
- Experience as CDI, CDQAR, Engine Turn Qual, APU Turn Qualification required.
- High school graduate or equivalent; specialized training courses desirable.
- Completion of appropriate T/M/S Navy Skill Specialty Class "C" school.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts for the specific T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.
- Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
- Knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, T/M/S specific IMRL equipment, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
- Working knowledge of technical publications, CNAFINST 4790.2 and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenance applications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a secret security clearance.
- Military VMET or JST included with application if prior military (must be included).
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $55.04. Salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; internal equity and alignment with market data.
