Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS)  is seeking an  Experienced Mechanical & Structural Design Engineer  to join the Air Dominance division in  Hazelwood, MO .

Position Responsibilities:

Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design

Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups

Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

Contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals

Support system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation

Train others

Work under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Experience working with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Siemens NX, CATIA, Solid Works, or equivalent.

Experience with Fuel, Hydraulic, & ECS aircraft subsystems

Broad understanding of heat transfer concepts, heat exchange components, and/or air cycle systems

Able to summarize findings and develop conclusions documented with the Microsoft Office suite of software including Word, Excel, and Power Point

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with pneumatic, electro-mechanical, or analog / digital control systems

Experience with troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign of mechanical components and systems
