Field Engineer

Pay Rate

$40 - $50 (hourly estimate)

Insight Global is looking for a Field Engineer for a large environmental construction company in Orange County. This position is a contract-to-hire role. This role requires heavy mechanical experience, including the installation of pipes, pumps, valves, and all related piping supports.

• Support the development and management of submittals, RFIs, and work packages, including scope, sequencing, labor/equipment needs, material lists, and associated budgets.
• Procure materials, tools, and equipment required to execute the work efficiently.
• Partner with the Project Superintendent on various office and field‑related tasks to keep the project running smoothly.
• Prepare and review project submittals such as product data, quality control plans, field procedures, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Provide field oversight and technical input for heavy mechanical scopes, including installation of pipes, pumps, valves, and all related piping supports.
• Monitor and support construction activities involving concrete work, ensuring quality and adherence to design requirements.

• BA Degree in construction management, engineering or a related field of study
• 3-5 years of experience working as a field engineer (working for a contractor)
• Experience with heavy mechanical construction, particularly with piping systems, pump/valve installations and mechanical equipment
• Exposure or experience supporting concrete projects
• Great communication
• Experience with large projects ($60 mil dollar projects)
• Ability to be on-site in Long Beach and around Southern California
