This is a 6-month contract position with potential for permanent placement based on
performance and business needs.
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to establish and maintain quality control processes at our wastewater treatment facility in St. Peters, MO.
This role is critical in ensuring environmental compliance and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive sampling procedures and protocols
Train and supervise operators on proper sampling techniques and documentation
Create visual management systems for sample identification and tracking
Perform on-site chemical analysis and maintain chain of custody documentation
Develop statistical process control tools to monitor treatment effectiveness
Coordinate with third-party laboratories for external testing
Monitor compliance with EPA and state environmental regulations
Maintain detailed records and prepare regulatory reports
Troubleshoot process deviations and recommend corrective actions
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field
2+ years experience in environmental laboratory or wastewater treatment
Proficiency in Google Sheets, Smartsheet and data analysis
Knowledge of EPA methods and environmental regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent documentation and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field
Experience with statistical process control
Wastewater operator certification
Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to collect samples in various weather conditions
Capable of lifting 40 pounds
Standing/walking for extended periods
