We are seeking a talented and motivated Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. Working closely with a team of experienced engineers, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans to validate the functionality of Silicon Photonics devices and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) at wafer‑level and die‑level. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and hands‑on experience in the exciting field of Silicon Photonics.
The position is hybrid at our Santa Clara or Goleta, CA locations.
- Work on site to configure and execute testing on photonic and RF test stations.
- Implement test plans and procedures for active, passive and complex PIC devices based upon customer requirements and internal design verification needs.
- Write and debug the test automation scripts in Python, implement and verify the analysis equations, and generate test result documentation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues during testing, working closely with the development team to resolve any identified issues.
- Order and maintain test equipment such as wafer probers, lasers, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Design, modify, and install test stations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing procedures, results, and any modifications made during the testing process.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation for internal and external use.
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics.
- Writing automation scripts in Python and data analysis in JMP.
- Demonstrated experience in data acquisition systems and data analysis.
- Ability to work cooperatively and proactively across the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including excellent presentation skills.
- Candidates must have U.S. work authorization.
- Experience in photonic and high‑speed RF testing.
- Practical knowledge of optoelectronic devices.
- Programming experience in Python, queries in SQL, data analysis in JMP.
