Environmental Compliance Manager at Ames Research Center, CA

The Opportunity

Tetra Tech seeks an Environmental Compliance Manager at NASA Ames Research Center, CA. This position is onsite at ARC and will require daily interaction and communication with NASA personnel.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $140‑165K. Pay is determined by education, experience, skills, location, certifications, and other competencies.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as on-site leader for a multi‑media environmental compliance contract with emphasis on managing hazardous waste, hazardous materials, air quality, stormwater, wastewater, drinking water, storage tank, NEPA, natural resources, and other environmental support services.
  • Coordinate contract activities; schedule and lead client meetings; produce contract status reports.
  • Support Project Manager with financial tracking, staff recruitment/​training, and subcontractor management.
  • Work safely at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Manage up to seven additional on‑site staff and oversee their responsibilities.
  • Maintain high quality of contract deliverables and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, science, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience supervising personnel.
  • 10+ years of environmental compliance experience.
  • 10+ years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of California environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of NASA environmental guidelines, systems, and processes preferred.
  • Current HAZWOPER training.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to client sites.
  • Detail‑oriented documentation of environmental compliance activities.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Position requires CAC card, CUI enclave access and/or security clearance; background check will be completed.

Work Environment

Language & Communication Skills
  • Must speak, read and understand the English language. Accurate report writing is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
