OverviewH2M architects + engineers is excited to offer a structured Cooperative Education (Co-Op) Program designed to provide students with real-world experience while earning academic credit. This program supports students enrolled in accredited universities who are pursuing degrees in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or Environmental Sciences.
The Co-Op program is a full-time, paid opportunity that runs during the Spring (January–June) and Fall (August–December) semesters allowing for flexibility based on school requirements. It is designed to help students bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
Responsibilities- Assist with general administrative tasks and project coordination.
- Perform design calculations and contribute to solving technical challenges.
- Support the development of construction drawings and specifications.
- Participate in field work and site visits as needed.
- Use AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and design tasks.
- Analyze and organize data into charts, tables, and reports.
- Collaborate with project teams and contribute to ongoing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Reports to a Project-level employee or above for daily tasks.
- Receives general guidance from the departmental/discipline manager.
- Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday–Friday.
- Hourly compensation.
- Benefits include PTO accrual and potential for 401(k) should eligibility requirements be met.
- Students are responsible for ensuring their university’s academic requirements are met.
- Enrolled as a junior or higher in a relevant degree program.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred, but not required (especially for Architecture/Engineering students).
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team.
- Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
The
salary range for this role is $17.50 - $27/hour.
