California Montessori Project (CMP) is a successful public charter school network based in the greater Sacramento area with an exceptional TK-8 Montessori program that is tuition-free and open to all students. The network serves over 3,000 students on seven campuses. CMP is authorized through, and maintains strong relationships with four school districts:
Elk Grove Unified School District, Sacramento City Unified School District, San Juan Unified School District and Buckeye Union School District.

CMP teachers are supported in pursuing dual-certification, holding a Montessori certification from an AMS-accredited training center and a California state credential. The CMP Leadership Team, including the Governing Board, Directors, Principals, and Deans, provide stability and focused guidance to the organization. CMP’s commitment to equity and student success is anchored in the frameworks of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which build sustainable systems and promote whole-child development.

Summary/Objective

We are looking for SLP professionals to provide speech and language services for students.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments in accordance with IDEA and California Education Code.
  • Administer and interpret speech and language screenings to help identify students who may require further assessment or intervention.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with IEP teams.
    Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to eligible students in individual or group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student communication development.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate service logs, reports, and compliance records.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and staff development activities.
  • Provide guidance, strategies, and resources to general and special education staff for supporting communication needs in the classroom.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices, legal requirements, and professional standards in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Adhere to CMP’s policies, procedures, and mission while promoting a positive, inclusive school environment.
  • Knowledge of speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders, including assessment and intervention strategies.
  • Understanding of IDEA, California Education Code, and IEP development and implementation processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and families to support communication needs within the general education environment.
  • Skill in designing and implementing therapy grounded in research and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and explain complex information clearly.
  • Ability to provide equitable and inclusive services for students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Capacity to balance multiple priorities, maintain compliance documentation, and deliver timely services across multiple campuses.
Supervisory Responsibilities ( if applicable)

May provide guidance and oversight to Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and instructional aides who may support students with communication needs.

This position operates primarily in a school office and/or classroom setting when supporting students. The employee works directly with students, teachers, administrators, and related service providers in dynamic educational settings that include multiple children, staff, and families.
